Saturday 23 May:
Greenacres men’s interclub with Invercargill Golf Club ends in a narrow
win for Invercargill 7 wins to 6 and 3 halves.
Saturday 9 May:
Greenacres men’s interclub with Riverton on a wet miserable results in a
victory to Greenacres 8—4, evening up the annual series at 13 wins
apiece over the years.
Sunday 26 April:
Robyn Pullar fired a course best
67 in the ladies in the annual Open Ladies Tournament. After
starting with a one under par 36
on the front nine, Robyn came home well with a 4 under 31 to
complete her round.
Saturday 25 April:
The team of Chris Bell, Brian Gibson and Rebecca Bell won the Jack
Taylor Cup for the best score in the ANZAC Day Ambrose Tournament with a
nett score of 57.45
Wednesday 22 April:
Greenacres Ladies defeat Invercargill in the annual interclub with an
aggregate of 426 to 405
Saturday 19 April:
The Greenacres Vice President team beats Riversdale at Greenacres to
make the finals of the Mataura Licensing Trust Pennants at Gore.
Saturday 21 February:
Greenacres beat Winton in the annual interclub fixture 10-5-4
Saturday 14 February:
Allan Smith, playing off a 6 handicap fires a 69 to overhaul the field
and take victory in the 2009
Senior Strokeplay Championship with an aggregate of 145. Scott Ramsay
won the Intermediate A with
a total of 155, 2 shots clear of his father Phil. Intermediate B was a
tie on 165 between Bob Mexted & Darryl Matehe, the Junior A section was
taken out by Jim Fletcher on 168. Junior B (21-26) was won by Brian
Gibson with a 2 round gross total of 170, 10 shots clear of his nearest
rival, Barry Allan on 187 won the Junior C Strokeplay by a clear margin.
Colin Young wins the
Peter Giles Cup for best gross aggregate over the three qualifying
rounds with a score of 235 (80-79-76) from Scott Ramsay and Ngarimu
Paraki, both on 237.
Brian Gibson (62,65,67)
pips Murray Todd (66,61,70)for the Trevor Turner Cup after they had tied
for the best 2 nett rounds over qualifying.
Saturday 10 January 2009:
Dave Skeggs starts the 2009 season off with a great 69 off the stick to
take out the senior grade of the R Redpaths Monthly Medal.
Brian Geary and Len Balneaves take out the Top Dog mantle from
Glenn Sinclair and Russell Harvey
Sunday 14 December:
Tom & Joan Smith win the 0-19 section of the Greenacres Christmas Mixed
Hamper on 43 pts, from John & Anne McDowell also on 43 pts. The 20+
section was won by Willie and Katherine Goodwin on 45 pts from Chris &
Rebecca Bell on 39.
Sunday 9th November 2008:
Tony Harvey is overall winner in the Greenacres ‘1000’ with a score of
95.5, half a shot ahead of Chris Holder on 96, winner of the
Men’s Section. Lenore Harvey won the ladies section on a total of 100
ahead of Tania Cribb and Pauline Harvey, both on 101.5. The Fourball
winners on Saturday were Craig Kura and Darren Fairweather with a nett
61 on countback from 5 other pairs on the same score
Sunday 2nd November 2008:
Jeremy Hall wins the Alliance Group Champion of Champions Tournament
over 36 holes at Greenacres with a score of 149. This was Jeremy’s third
successive title at this tournament. JP Ballantyne took out the
Intermediate gross on 164and Scott Ramsay finished 3rd in the Senior
nett on 154

Sands resulted in a win to Greenacres 15-7-3.

Greenacres Men’s inter club against Invercargill Golf Club, played at
Otatara results in a draw. Greenacres retain the Trophy
Sunday 18th May:
Shirley Kelliher holes in one at the 86metre par 3 eighteenth
(Dangerman), Shirley’s second ace at Greenacres.
Sunday 11th May 2008:
Chris & Rebecca Bell win the 2008 Ian Buckingham Trophy scoring 41
points in the mixed greensome event, on a countback from Alan & Lyn

Bob Burgess scores a Hole in One on “Good Hit” (No 6). This is Bob’s 3rd
Hole in One at Greenacres, having previously aced on No’s 2 & 11. He
also has two other Holes in one at other courses
