Entries close 26 September and the draw will be posted on 3 October. This match-play tournament uses left- and right-hand draws, giving each player two opportunities to reach the final. The final is played between the winner of each draw. Match play on handicap is scored hole by hole; the lower-handicap player gives shots on stroke holes equal to the difference in handicaps. For example, a 17 handicap playing a 21 gives shots on stroke holes 1–4. Member notices· The new bar till is operating. Local Rules and Course CarePitch marks and divotsPlease repair pitch marks on greens and divots on fairways, and encourage new members to do the same. Frost protocolAfter a heavy frost, the course will be closed and a rolling start from 11am will apply. Bare patches on greensIf you must putt through a significant bare patch, you may take free relief no closer to the hole. This applies only to significant bare patches, not small blemishes. Drainage on hole 13Two drop zones are available because of cultivated ground. A compulsory free drop must be taken in the nearest zone, no closer to the green. See Rule 16.1e. Ditch on holes 9 and 10The ditch running from the bridge on the ninth fairway across the tenth fairway is an immovable obstruction. You may take complete relief from the concrete with a one-club-length drop, no closer to the hole. The ditch running from the bridge across the ninth fairway is a red penalty area. A one-stroke penalty drop may be taken as far back as you like, keeping the point and the pin in line. See Rule 16.1a(2). Clean and placeA one-club-length clean-and-place rule currently applies on your own fairway only. Power poles and power linesIf your ball strikes a power pole or power line, the shot must be replayed without penalty. |
